Reduction lino print
My Christmas card for 2022. This is a reduction lino, which is a great way to achieve a colour print from one block, which you cut and use again and again. You start by cutting away whatever you want to stay white (or the colour of the paper you’re printing on). Then you print with the lightest colour – in this case the light blue you see at the back and in the lines. Then you cut away everything you want to stay that colour and print a darker colour – in this case the reindeer behind. Then you cut that away and print the block with the darkest colour. You alway work from light to dark.
Registration is key because you need to place the block precisely in the same place each time. Fortunately there are these amazing pins, which make this much easier.
